Question about the simple past

Hi Teachers,

If I ask this question, 'Where did Alex stay and looked?' The second verb has to be in the simple past because 'did' only affects the first verb in the question, am I right?

Thanks in advance

Hi Clive,

Thank you for your reply, So, the verb 'did' affects all the verbs in a question and all the verbs that follow 'did' have to be in infinitive without 'to'.

The same thing happens to the verb 'do/does', as auxiliary verbs, doesn't it?
