Question about some parts of a talk show clip (Sia)

I need to translate this video, but there are some parts I can't hear clearly.

What are the parts of the transcript at 4:59 and 6:51 in this talk show clip?

It sounds like:
1. Sia - I am doing the push.
James - sort of _ thing.
2. Sia - Maybe they are just among us.
James - How _ do we know.

Also, at 3:43 of this video, the man said "is that a difficult sell when you're talking to record companies."

What does "difficult sell" mean?

Top answer

1. How do I get that sort of guttural thing? I'm doing a push.

"difficult sell" just means something that is difficult to sell.

(By the way, just out of curiosity, what is the point of this sketch? I have no idea who these people are.)

I don't hear the "...how __do we know..." line at all.

He is asking her if the record companies were hard to convince that the mystery idea of hiding her face was a good idea. Did she have trouble "selling" them the idea, getting them to buy (accept) it.

I see, thanks.
