Question about sentences and expression?

I would like to know how to correctly express the situation that I'm in and know which word to use?

In each sentence is water pressure, current, water flow or river flow correct?

1- If you throw a a bottle in a river, the water pressure from the waterfall will take to the other side.
1- If you throw a a bottle in a lake, the current/water flow/river flow might take it too the other side.

Could you see what I'm talking about. Does it make sense and is it correct?

2- Place your hands over the big hole in the shower curtain to see if your hand gets any drops/water. If you know you are going to flood the place, turn the pressure down so as not to get any water out of the hole.

Is this correctly written?

3- I don't feel comfortable leaving the room I'm in a mess because I'm not in my own room. I'm on vacation at my friends house.

Does sunburn burn or itch? Is the last sentence grammatical?
