Question about sentences

Dear all,

Please see the following sentences. I have questions regarding both.

1) You may remember me. We were sitting next to each other on a flight from London to Berlin last Friday. (Here I would like to know whether the "may" shows "possibility."

2) We met each other last month at the Chrysler sales convention in Milan. (Here I would like to know whether "each other" is needed here.)

Thank you.
