Question about sentences

Dear all,

Suppose, I entrusted some work to a person a couple of days back. Now I want to ask him "how much" work has he completed so far and also I have given one of my books to a friend to read. I wish to ask him "how far" he has read it. Kindly tell me which of the following sentences are applicable to this context. I also like to know how a native speaker asks these questions. If they are wrong, please correct them.

1) How far have you got with it?

2) How far have you gone ahead with it?

3) How much work have you completed so far?

4) How far have you read it?

5) How far have you gone ahead with it?

6) How much have you read it so far?

Thank you.
