Question about sentences

Dear all,

The other day I have heard a cameraman of a TV channel said the following words. I would like to know whether his words are grammatically correct.

"I am going to ask this guy who is going to tell the name of the flowers. So I am going to put the camera to him."

So I am going to put the camera to on him." No, I'd expect 'on'.

1) No present perfect with 'the other day'. You need the past.
2) heard someone say; saw someone do. The second verb is always in the diction
