Dear all,
I would like to know whether the following expressions are correct.
1) It is long since I sang a song.
2) It is long since we spoke.
3) It has been long since I sang a song.
4) It has been long since we spoke.
Thank you.
This use of "it is / has been long since" is old-fashioned and is likely to appear incorrect in ordinary modern English. Instead we say: 1) It is a long time since I sang a song. 2) It is a long time since we spoke.

These are all OK as amended.
