Question about sentences

Dear all,

The following sentence is taken from a letter of a telecom company named BSNL. I would like to know whether"there" is a correct usage here.


"Recently, there has been published in media about closure of BSNL."

"there" looks OK, but the sentence is not right, and it should be rewritten without the "there" construction.

Recently, articles about the closure of BSNL have been published.

"in the media" is about the same as "published" so you can write have been published
