Question about sentences

Dear all,

I am unsure about when to use prepositions "in" and "at". I have referred some grammar books. But still I am in confusion. Kindly see the following sentences.

1) I am in office/at office. ( Now I am sitting inside the office and doing my work).

2) I am in School/at School.

3) I am in Hospital/at Hospital.

4) I am at work.

Thank you.

1. I am in the office. (At the office isn't wrong, but it isn't used very often.)

2. I am in/at school. (In school is common in the USA while at school is usually used in Britain. Don't capitalise school and hospital.)

3. I am in hospital. (You are a patient. Americans use the article: in the hospital.)
