Please tell me whether the following sentence is correct.

It seems unusual. " It may be possible in a certain context where "so" refers to a degree or extent that has previously been mentioned, but I think "that" would be used more often than "so": A: You look like a scarecrow. B: Really?

A: You look like a scarecrow.
B: Really? Is my hair so/that messy?
If all you mean to ask is whether your hair is more messy than it ought to be, try "Is my hair very messy?"
