Question about reflexive and objective pronouns

As a reflexive pronoun advise, I got this : Do not uss reflexive pronouns instead of subject or object pronouns.

But in these sentences, "I saw myself in the mirror" , "You can see yourself in the mirror", "Gordon saw himself in the mirror", aren't they replacing object pronoun me, and you, and him? which makes the rule not universal?
And if I can't put object pronoun in that place, why can't I?

The rule is incomplete. Do not use reflexive pronouns as subjects. Use them as objects only when they refer to the same person or thing as the subject.
