The original sounds odd. 'Felix was angry.' 'Felix's face was contorted with anger.'

Hi Mister Micawber,

Thank you for your reply. But this time the sentence is taken from a book, 'The President's murderer'. That's why I've asked. I got more or less the same feeling, 'Felix was angry' sounds much better.

Then I would use

c) How did Felix's face appear?

Hi Mister Micawber,

Thank you so much for your reply. I would have never thought about this one myself.

By the way, how come we use the verb 'to be' in the answer? I've always asked myself the same question with this one, 'What does he look like? He is short and fat'. Again here we use the verb 'be' in the answer, could you tell me why is that?
