I have a question regarding the /æ/ pronunciation. I mean, I know how it sounds like and how to pronounce it, but sometimes I hear people pronounce it like /e??/. For example: Sam - instead of /sæm/ some people say /se??m/. Is it an American accent? And is the /æ/ sound pronounced like /e??/ all the time in that accent? Thanks in advance.
