Question about possessive

Hi, in the following sentence, am I using the possessive correctly?

The managers' meals did not come yet.

If I'm only referring to one meal per manager, do I stilll need to make meal plural? Should it be:

The managers' meal did not come yet?

Thank you.

No, it's clear you mean one meal per manager if you use "meals."

However, the "did not come" would be better as "have not come yet."

Thank you, and why is "have not come" a better statement?

Thank you. I am trying to improve as much as possible.

The present perfect, "have not come" connects it to what is going on right now. They have not come yet, but they should shortly. It says that right now a situation is one way, but it can change.

If you say "they didn't come" then it's entirely in the past. We waited and waited, but they didn't come.
