Question about photo description. Unit 5 (I)

Hi Teachers,

Based on this answer, 'They were yellow and old' I can ask both options 'a' and ''b', can't I?

a) What kind of photographs were they?

b) What condition were the photos in?

My question is, can I also ask, 'What did the photographs look like?' If not, could you tell the reason?

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't use a) because the answer really isn't relevant to the question. "Yellow and old" isn't a kind of photograph, but is a condition. As to your question- I would say yes, you can also ask that.

Hi jpeterson,

Thank you for your reply.

So, 'what kind of photos were they? is wrong then.

What about, 'How were the photos?'' is it also possible?
