Question about petition

School uniform will be banned if there are 30000 people signed.

But I dont know how how many ppl are required to sign in order to take charge on banningthe uniform and I want to know what would happen if there is enough people has signed. Should I ask:

"What would happen if the petition has reached its limit?"

Or What would happen if the petition has reached _____(cant think of it).
