Question about participle phrases

Hi!

Generally I think I understand participle phrases. However, I often see sentences like this:

She sighed at me, her eyes glistening.

Is this also a participle phrase? I am used to seeing the -ing word describe the subject (as in "She sighed at me, clutching my hand"), whereas in the example above it is the eyes, not "she", that is glistening.

Any insight will very appreciated Emotion: smile
