Question about one sentence

"I study at a medicine university."

"I have been studying at a medicine university.

If I want to say to somebody by myself (not being asked) that I study medicine, which sentence should I pick? Which one of these two above is correct? Should I use a definite article before the word "university" or should I leave it out?

Thanks a lot in advance.
