Question about meaning

Hi!
I found such sentence in a wedding magazine - it describes one of the model of party platter:). Here it is:
"Set a refinded note with this handled pewter tray"
I am wondering mainly aboutthe meaning of "set a refined note"

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello Wojtek It should really be 'set a refined note'. The writer is implying that a pewter tray (with handles) is a particularly sophisticated ('refined') piece of tableware. Its mere presence will make the wedding reception itself seem particularly sophisticated.

'Set the note' = 'set the tone': i.e. here, 'establish the general character of the occasion'.
