Question about married lady

Hello teacher.,

Yesterday I completed lunch and was on the on the way to pathology lab. I had some practical work in pathology lab. There I spoke to a lady senior lab assistant. I said - Good afternoon Mrs. Ancy madam. She bacame angry and asked me not to say Mrs. Ancy but only Ms. Ancy. Actually she got married and have 2 children. I want to know what is wrong if I say Mrs. Ancy? How can Ms is used for a lady who got married? Is it ego problem with her or headstrongness? I havenot understood her feeling. Please help me with your views.
