Question about intructions for a listening comprehension exercise (5)
Hi teachers, This is for a listening comprehension exercise. If this is what the students will hear: "Alex sat up quickly.", is this a suitable question to ask? Is there a better one? What did Alex do after what the old woman said?
This is the text: At about three o’clock Alex opened his eyes, and saw an old woman in front of him. ‘What are you doing in my field, young man?’ she said. Alex sat up quickly.
Thanks in advance.

The question would be "What did the old woman ask him?"so if you put this question (without did) immediately after after it sounds very awkward and probably ungrammatical.
The best I can come up with that is similar to what you want is
What did Alex do after the old woman asked him that (question)?
