Question about embedded questions

Question

For example, the sentence "Who do you think is the best leader ?" sounds correct.

But "Who do you think are you ?" sounds incorect. Instead we say "Who do you think you are ?"

So what i wonder is if the first sentence is correct or not and if it's correct i think that means we can also say "Who do you think are you?"
Am I right about it ?

You could also ask the question with is at the end of the sentence.

— Who do you think the best leader is __?
— I think the best leader is Jean.

— Who do you think __ are you?
— I think they are me.

It doesn’t make sense. You would a different predicative complement other than you for the question to work, such as:

— Who do you think __ are the best athletes of all time?
— I think Boo, Kipp, Goo, and Bones are the best athletes of all time.
