Question about email signature format.

I am moving into a new position at work. The former employee used the following signature in his email. - 'Aerial Imaging Product Development.' My question is should he have used 'Aerial Imaging Product Developer' ?

Both would work. Developer would mean you are a developer. Development would mean you work in the development section.
