Question about directions. Unit 6

Hi Teachers,

Could yo help me and correct these directions please?

Write direct questions and their answers according to the given information and the previous short story.

1.- (a) Ask what time the department store opened, and then answer the question.

_______________________________________________________________________

_______________________________________________________________________

(b) Ask when the department store closed, and then answer the question.

________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________

etc.

The thing is the students have 6 short stories each unit among other execises. My question is about the end of the directions, ' ... and the previous short story.' Is there a better way to tell it?
