Question about directions. Chapter 1

Hi Teachers,

Do I have to say', 'We use these wh-questions and answers ...' or I can also say, 'We use these questions and answers ...' The examples have drawings too. There cats and pencils.

Grammar Note

There are two basic types of questions in English: wh-questions and yes/no questions.

Wh-questions

We use these wh-questions and answers to determine the name of an object or an animal in singular and plural.

What is this?

a) This is a cat.

b) it is a cat.

What it it? It is a cat.

What are these?

a) These are cats.

b) They are cats.

What are they? They are cats.

Thanks in advance

Hi Clive,

It is really difficult to explain the whole explanation here.

I have an email direction in my profile. If I tell you the password, wiil you enter there and have a look at the page that explains this?

Hi,

No, sorry, I prefer to simply deal with things posted here.

Hi Clive,

Ok. Then it is too difficult to explain everything here.

I've never used the term wh-questions. I say 'information questions'. I've seen both in grammar books.

Would you call a question with 'how' a wh-question? They say that actual

Hi,

How would a student say aloud, 'Can you please explain some more about wh-questions?'

Hi Clive,

Then it should be better to use 'information questions', I do believe you. I'm not a native English teacher.

I thought they were the same.

Best,

TS
