Question about British English in the US

Does anybody know if university professors would care if for example someone in an American university uses the British dialect instead of the American, and vice versa? Would marks be taken off if for example I were in an American university and I submitted an assigment of mine to my Professor and I used the British 'organisation' instead of the American 'organization'?

I can't guarantee what some professor might do, but generally, in the United States, we don't consider spelling variations from the UK to be errors. We know about most of them and don't care about that. We see the "u" in words like "colour," for example.

  • That is acceptable.
  • No problem.
