Question about article before uncountable noun

Hi, in this sentence:
"I couldn't sleep due to noise that came from the street."
I did not include the definite article before noise. Is this correct? I think it is. I think it's like saying "some noise".

I also think that the presence of the article in this example would be correct as well:
"I couldn't sleep due to the noise that came from the street."

It's OK with or without 'the'. I think that most native speakers would say 'because of' rather than 'due to'.
