Question about "and"

Hello,

Could you please tell me whether or not my interpretation about the following sentence is correct?

Sentence:
"This is a task that requires a certain skill with a pencil and a good memory."

My interpretation:
(a) The task requires a certain skill with a pencil. And it also requires a good memory.
(b) The task requires a certain skill with a pencil. And it also requires a certain skill with a good memory.

Are both (a) and (b) are correct, or is one of them incorrect?

Thank you in advance.
