Hi Teachers,

Can 'arrives' and 'comes' be synonyms of the underlined verb in the following sentence?

She often gets there late.

Personally, I would not use 'comes' with 'there'. You 'come here' and 'go there'. "She often comes late" is a little better, in my opinion.

Julia works in a large office. Work starts at nine, but she often gets there late. She is ten minutes late today. It is ten past nine. Two office workers are talking about her in the office.
