You may want to be more concerned with proper punctuation than passive voice.

Passive voice is more frequently used in academic writing, for example where the writer is more concerned with what happened than who did that. But it can equally be used whenever you think the action or event is more important than the doer or when you think the doer is not important, unknown, or too obvious to be mentioned.

The Central Bank was robbed yesterday.

The palace was built around three centuries back.

The experiment was done on a group of students who felt a large degree of anxiety in class.

In the fifth stage, water and nutrients are added to the mix to prepare it for the plantation.

In the examples above, passive voice is more appropriate than active voice.

People warn you about passive voice because beginners so often overuse it, that's all. It is not bad in and of itself.
