Question...

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know. I just thought you might need to talk to someone."

Question: Is "thought you might need to" fitting here? And if yes, how urgent would it be understood? I'm uncertain because of the word "need". Could I just translate it as: "I just thought you could benefit from talking to someone"? Or is it more urgent than that?
