Question

Hi, I have two questions

1.

“ when you are on that 9-5 grind stuck in traffic but you are just a puppy”

This sentence was on a meme

What does ”9-5 grind stuck” mean?

2.

“Sometimes I swear my friend’s dos is a human in dog’s skin”

It’s also from a meme

I am wondering why there is no a/the infront of “dog’s skin”

Isn’t it should be a dog’s skin or the dog’s skin?

I am always confused with using an article(a/an/the), can anyone help on that?

  • "9-5 grind stuck" is not a phrase.
  • You are "on that 9-5 grind" and also "stuck in traffic".
  • "on that 9-5 grind" in this case means making a tiring or tedious commute to or from a job where you work 9 am to 5 pm (traditional office working hours).
  • Obviously a puppy wouldn't be working 9 to 5, so it is meant humorously.
