Question

Hello,

I’m stuck with these sentences:

1) Today there are clearly more (woman drivers / women drivers) in London than only five years ago.
As far as I know, the plural of compound nouns is form by adding an –s to the main word which is in this case “driver”. So the answer should be “woman drivers”. Isn’t it? It still sounds strange to me and I would prefer “female/male drivers”.

2) Hairdressing is sometimes (boring work / a boring work).
Can I get some guidance with this sentence?
I would choose “a boring work”. If it is wrong, where is the mistake?

Thank you in advance! =)
