question

A teacher asked me a question:How unaware did the philosopher philosophize on and on?
The passage
××× On and on he philosophized, quite happily unaware of the ghee in the leave in his hand melting gradually and dripping.×××

What do you think of the question? Is it possible? Thanks for your help.

Top answer

It is poorly phrased, certainly. Without knowing the context it would appear meaningless. Perhaps: How unaware was the philosopher as he philosophized on and on?

Leave? I believe this should be 'palm of' or perhaps 'hollow of'.

Where did 'leave' come from?

It could be the leaf in which, I believe, ghee was wrapped.
