Question

why is it that we use on for the phrase "on the buss" ?

Top answer

Hi, I am taking a wild guess People sit on horse or cow wagons as long distance travel. So people are used to using on since long long time ago. So when buses appeared as transport, people use sitting "on" the bus and not sitting "in" the bus.
