Question

Is it correct to say :

He is one of my Swiss Alpine Club friends

or

He is one of my friends from Swiss Alpine Club?

Top answer

Techncially, you could say either, but with three words, the first version is too long. For example: one of my book-club friends, one of my rugby-team friends, one of my work friends... those all work.

  • But once you get to "Swiss-Alpine-Club" it's a bit long.
  • So I would recommend the second.
