I suspect he means that his fans won't find him **** and want to see him in concert/buy his albums. I believe the overall message is that being loved by the fans is not something you can assume will last forever - they can quickly transfer their affections elsewhere without a lot of reason.

What do you mean by "fat behind"?
Personally, to me it means that if we record two bad albums in a row and become lazy (this is how I understand "fat a r s e" (maybe "****" is also OK). Later in the text Bono mentions
