What kind of difference do you native speakers of English feel between "To me, it's important" and "For me, it's important"?

"To me, it's important"...I like that one. I've never used "For me, it's important..."

I'd be more likely to say 'It's important to me'.

I always use the two phrases in these ways:

"You're important to me."

"It's important for me to be on time."

"It's important to me to be on time." << This doesn't make sense to me.
