Which one of the following is correct?

(1) Have you a ticket?
(2) Do you have a ticket?

If both are correct, whats the difference between the two?

" is correct. i don't think (1) is acceptable grammaticaly though people frequently use it. my suggestion is always use (2).

Hi paddy,
i feel " (2) do you have a ticket?" is correct.
i don't think (1) is acceptable grammaticaly though people frequently use it.
my suggestion is always use (2).

Grammaticaly, number two is more acceptable, but I am sure British English accepts the first one, at least in spoken form:

Have you a dog?
yes, I have.

Have you a pen?
No, I haven't.
