Letter Writing

Query Regarding the Hyphenation of a Term

Does it make sense to hyphenate "sex-life," since "sex" isn't an adjective, but, together, both nouns make up a specific noun?

Thanks.

Hi, I wouldn't, just as I wouldn't hyphenate eg car door eg love affair Clive

Hey, Clive!

What about "tractor-trailer" or "letter-writer?" Would you keep those separate as well, or go with a hyphen?

Thanks.

Hi,

Probably tractor-trailer, because It's not a trailer that pulls tractors.
Probably letter writer..
