hi, curiosity about the quasi-predicative (or maybe quasi-complement),
I ask the kind of sentence formed with it, tho, nah. here're two examples.
a. "He was born playing computer games."
b. "I am born to kill."
those have relation with "be born."
At example a., present participle was used, i thought, as a quasi-predicative.
He aint never playing computer games when he was born, for an infant baby couldn't play a computer game.
It means like that of example b. "I am born to kill."
born to kill.... It means that he is a natural killer, not that he was killing someone when he was born.
nah hah, then it gives me a confusion with example a.
"example a." might be formed of a Metaphor. metaphor.
Grammatically, construction of example a. might have no quasi-predicative and, it just might be of an expression of a metaphor.
Moreover, can we consider "playing" as "quasi-predicative" instead of "present participle"?
