quantity agreement

Please advise if there are any quantity agreement problems in the following sentences.

My favorite animal is dogs.

Dogs are my favorite pet.

1. "My favourite animal is dog". You are refering to the "animal" here, which is singular.

2. "Dogs are one of my favourite pets". This means you have more than one favourite pet catagories and the dogs are one of them.
