Quantifiers

Hi all,

"The ................ response I got from her really drove me crazy", he
sighed.

A. few
B. a few
C. little
D. a little

I know that "response" is uncountable. So the correct answer is probably option C here. But I found this sentense unnatural. Am I wrong?
