Quantifier and determiner in one table?

Hi,

Please tell me if a quantifier like 'a lot', 'many' or 'some' and a determiner like 'a' or 'the' can be in the same sentence.

eg,

the a lot of (many/some) apples -- What if it is followed by a restrictive phrase or clause? I don't think it will work .

The a lot of (many/some) apples mentioned previously are surely to be purchased those who seek tasty apples.
