What are the principal differences between these? I'm trying to build a cv and separate my college qualifications from the short courses I've done to make the quals stand out more. So I want to give these their own titles, naturally I will use Qualifications title for the college qualifications but would be the logical title for the short one day courses I've done?

I expect the answer to be "Courses"

Use "Training classes" for short courses on a very specific topic, such as "How to use Microsoft Word."
Use Certification if the course resulted in a recognized certificate.
eg. MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate): SQL 2016 Database Administration, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, 2015

Training and certifications are given by private businesses.
