Q34: Could you help me with this grammar, please

Hello there teachers, 

The sentence is: Thanks for inviting me to dinner. I will try to be punctual / I will try to be there on/in time. 

Here are my questions, please: 

1) Could we also say other things, such as 'the meal' or 'the feast' or 'the ceremony' in place of 'dinner'? For eg, Thanks for inviting me to the meal / to the feast / to the ceremony.

2) Do they "I will try to be punctual" and "I will try to be there on time" have the same meaning in my sentence?

3) Also, would there be any difference between saying 'I'll try to be there in time' and 'I'll try to be there on time'
