Q20: a few grammar questions concerning a sentence, please

Hello,

Here is a sentence, and I have some questions related to it, please.

- I wonder who might have done this to him, but whoever did (or had done?) this to him wanted him to die slowly.

Here're my questions, please:

1) Is that sentence natural to you?

2) The sentence contains the verb phrase 'might have done'. What meaning does it convey, please?

3) Can I use 'would have done', too? For ex "I wonder who would have done ..."?

4) In the second part "but whoever did this to him...", is past simple natural? Or should I use the 'past perfect', instead?

Thank you all. .. Emotion: smile
