Q10: 'Our teacher always gives us lots of homework' contrasted with 'Our teacher is always giving us lots of...'

Hello dear members of the Forum,

Could you please tell me the difference between these two sentences?

Here're the sentences:

1) Our teacher always gives us lots of homework.

2) Our teacher is always giving us lots of homework.

Of #1, I feel that it expresses a habitual or repeated action, something that he / she always does.

Can #2 convey the same meaning as #1 conveys, please?

Thank you.
