Q1: word for 'walking with noise', Q2: ask someone not to slam the door
Dear All,
I have two questions, as already mentioned in the title. The first one is: how do you call it in English when somebody walks on the floor with a lot of noise, for example because he is heavy and he has hard shoes on?
The second question is this hypothetical situation: You're living with a couple of flatmates and you have been woken up a couple of times because one of your roommates makes a lot of noise when he walks on the floor. You ask everyone whether he is the one who walks like this, but nobody knows or realizes that he is making noise when he walks (so it is not that your roommate denies stuff or something like that, he really doesn't know). Now, how would you say or ask in a natural way to all your flatmates, that they should pay attention to this. So, without blaming someone or suggesting he did it, since it is not clear who does it. My suggestion would be: Would you mind paying attention to this? But doesn't this already assume and suggest whom you're talking to did it? So, it is about nuances (other way of saying this? 'nuances' appears to be hardly used), that's what I was trying to make clear.
Nb. Please feel free to correct my grammar and/or suggest more natural ways of saying things in this question where necessary. I'd appreciate that!
A lot of words for some simple questions, thanks in advance,
Buffett.
