Puzzling sentences

1. The leader (made/ gave/ said/ did) a touching speech during yesterday's meeting.

2. Mona (went/ used to go/ would go) to the library thrice a week when she was young.

3. (Did you wait / Had you waited) until the car had been checked before you returned home?

My answer:

1. Both 'made' and 'gave' are OK.

2. All choices are OK.

3. Did you wait...........?
